President Buhari lauds Gaya's IPU election

Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has sent a congratulatory message to Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, the newly elected Vice President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union for Africa at the just-concluded 135th general assembly of the union in Geneva, Switzerland. 

According to a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, on Friday, November 28, 2016, the President noted that Gaya possesses the experience, credentials and vision to serve in the international body and contribute to the goal of making the world a better place through people-oriented legislations in a democratic society.  

Shehu said Buhari was confident that the Senator would serve the IPU with dedication and integrity, in addition to representing the collective voice of African parliamentarians on priority issues that promotes peace, security, development and prosperity in the continent.
